2011 128i Extended Warranty Necessary?
I just bought a 2011 128i 6spd with 44k miles on it and was wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to purchase an extended warranty?
I will be doing all maintenance according to the "old bmw maintenance." Looking at Route 66 extended warranty btw. |

I did for my '08 because of my experience with an E36 328is that had a variety of things go wrong that added up over time. VANOS sensors, an emissions system issue, water pump, trip computer and power seat motor come to mind.
Hopefully my 128 will have fewer issues, but there is a lot more gadgetry that can go wrong on it than there was on the E36. Besides, the car I bought with the comprehensive warranty was still less than what I had budgeted so the piece of mind was worth it without overspending. |

I did for my CPO 2009 128. Best decision I made. After 80k miles, you hit the 80k Mile Curse. Everything falls apart (only maintanance and a couple leaks here and there) but thank god it's all under warranty
