Under seat sub upgrade reviews

Looking for a few reviews on under seat sub upgrades without changing anything else (starting with HK system). I have read a few reviews on E series cars but not much on the F's.

I know of at least two viable sub options but haven't seen much here on reviews of the upgrade. Curious if there is a significant change. Many people will recommend adding a trunk sub and amp.

While I agree that adding a trunk sub will yield the biggest improvement, when considering the cost is it the best option? I estimate it would be about $6-900+.... depending on the choice of sub and amp. Sub replacements are under $200 and easy to do yourself. I know we are talking about two different worlds here and can't compare the two. If the sub replacements to the HK system is a significant upgrade I don't think I would really need much more.

I would guess that with the HK system, it's best to use the underseat as a midbass woofer and get a dedicated sub. I don't know the HK system crossover points, but getting an 8" sub for the underseats, like the SWS, can leave a gap in the midbass that's hard to fill, either with EQ or a door mid that can play low enough.

spoke with bavsound guys when i ordered my stage 1 and I believe they were aiming for springtime for the subs. I'm going to guess late spring if I were a betting man. it is the works though.

That's good to hear. When did you order your stage 1? I'm crossing my fingers this doesn't become vaporware.

Did they mention what happens to those that order Stage 1 before the subs are released? If they go the route of their normal pricing, the subs would be discounted when purchased with the Stage 1 kit.

I ordered the stage 1 just after Christmas thinking the half off deal was going to end (they've since kept the deal.) it was back ordered so I also got an extra 10% off for that. the est. ship date was supposed to be in Feb but I ended up getting everything In late January. I won't even have my car til April right now! I remember hearing the sub will be around $400 but don't quote me on that. I have my M3 ordered with the HK setup fyi.

Checked with Bavsound today. June launch for the subs, that's as of today, who knows could get pushed back.

I hear you. It's more likely this time around because they are a more mature company and selling more upgrades. They know the market is there for a sub upgrade. It will come out as long as they feel the new design is easy to install, an improvement in sound, and plug n play.

I believe this go shut down because this was infringing on another's design.

a lot of people on e90post use Jehnert. i have the jehnert door board solution with 4 midbass' per side (3 in the door, one under seat.)
