Anyone have Titanium Shadow on their dash e92 or e46?

The next car available to my dealer is mine, so I am trying to get my options worked out. I am attracted to the base Titanium Shadow trim for it color and simplicity. I have never been able to examine it close up. Is is painted plastic or is it higher class-- like metal with a coating or anodized? Anyone who has it --can you tell me what its like.

I turned down my dealers first car allotment a few weeks ago because it was before the prices were released. Also the BMW computer ordering system wouldn't allow him to order a car without navigation. When I checked last week it was still locked for a navigation only car. I still want a car without the nav, dash hump or idrive so I am holding out in the hope that by the time he gets his second car to order, I can get it the way I want it.

Thanks for the titanium shadow comments.

I would seriously reconsider the Tech Package that includes MDrive and the "hump".

Titanium Shadow trim on the E46 was a laminated plastic simulation (pretty good) of metal. There were lots of peeling problems with the early stuff, but, hopefully, those have been worked out.

You are in the minority with the one humpers. I'm one myself. It's great to have so much of the content optional so one can opt out if they so choose. Most on here would probably agree that we're getting a shell of an M3 with no I-drive, M-drive, Nav or M-DCT.

The titanium shadow is plastic, but has a nice appearance. It was my first choice until I saw the CL trim in IRL on an M coupe.

I'm a one humper myself but I just feel like this car isn't complete without the tech package...which sucks...because i hate navi.

Thanks Greg W for the great photo and description. Now I can make my choice.

One Humpers unite. You can still turn off the DSC and order the EDC. You get the engine and the M differential lock and order the wheels that you want. I think that will keep me happy without the ugly hump or the ungainly idrive.

TBH when i saw the titanium shadow dash i thought i was classy enough for the car if you see what i mean. Its what i've ordered, the CL is great but IMO no better than the CL. Also the feel of the titanium shadow IMO is metal, it has a brushed finish and cold to the touch like metal!

Here are a couple pics from Ray33's car with titanium shadow. He was saying the seats looks darker in person, so the same comment might apply to the trim as well?

I think that is a VERY accurate representation of Fox Red and Titanium Shadow trim.
