Up front bass

I wanted a better sounding and integrated sub solution.

Wow! Looks fantastic! You retained a lot of leg/foot room. I'm considering this myself; would you mind answering a few questions?

-What sub and size did you use?
-How did you secure it? Bolted? If so, where did you bolt it to?
-Did you remove any of the foam padding of the carpet?
-Did you retain function of the footwell light?
-How does it sound compared to your trunk corner loaded sub?

Really curious to your answers. Thanks!

At the moment I am using a JL Audio 10W3. I will be changing it to a OneCore 10" sub in a few weeks. Compared to my trunk loaded sub, it is night and day plus some. The sub bass is SO powerful in the car. Took a little time alignment, but it blends So damn good with the factory system now. I am using a class AB amp to power the sub, so you can really hear the imperfections of the woofer/amp you use. The trunk enclosure adds to the stock system, definitely noticeable, this sub, if you crank it, is like wow.

I did cut the foam at the footwell, its like 4-5" thick so it made moving the enclosure further back easier. The factory light still works. I am 6'1 and can comfortably sit in the pass side without any issues. The stock floor matt makes a farting noise when I lay it down so im looking into a solution for that. I screwed it down to a tab that sits there ( I think where the gas pedal goes on a LHD car ) so the enclosure is not going anywhere.

If anyone in the Socal area wants to listen, let me know.

I am so happy with the way it sounds and looks. This is ver1 so I already know what changes I want to make to improve it. I'll keep you guys updated.

Amp is in the trunk under the trunk floor.

Thanks for all the pics. I was just down in the footwell upgrading my underseats, and I noticed a nice threaded nut welded to the floor/firewall under the carpet. I think you're right that it's for RHD cars, but acts as a perfect mount for this application.

When I saw how much of your kickpanel was visible, I was thinking the sub was really deep back there. Wow, so you cleared the footwell light, huh?? That would mean there's almost NO foot/leg room lost!!

Did you fab this up yourself, or have a shop do it?

That's awesome! I went the conservative route and ordered a full musicarNW system with trunk sub.

Do you really think Jehnerts can come close to this setup? This will blow them out the window, easily.

I heard this setup yesterday and all I can say is that it sounded incredible! I used to have two 12s in the trunk of my inifniti FX back in the day, and this is something else. It hit hard and was crisp. Even with the windows open this thing kept bumping. Definitely going this route with my next car

The W series sub is amazing.

Once upon a time(07-08), I had the latest Alpine R12s(2) both running at full RMS and my buddies JL W7 13.5 went doo-doo all over both of my speakers.

Looks like the don't offer the same power specs on the W7 anymore, but either way.

I'm sure if one of these fit underneath the seat it would be a vibrating seat

I have been thinking of how I can get one or two if these in my car. They are great. If anyone hasn't heard one before try to find one before you make a purchase.

I'd love to get something like this, but I don't want a box or anything of the sorts in the trunk. I want it all tucked away, mostly our of sight along with a JL Clean Sweep or something.

So now I have 6" OnCore mid bass and ES horns up front with my 10" sub. Best sounding front stage. Imaging, impact and loud!
