DCT safety feature for brake pedal
The DCT has this really awesome little feature where you can't put it in gear while the car is at a standstill unless your foot is on the brake. I don't remember the E46 SMG having this, but either way, I would like to disable it. I would like to think that the brain between my ears and common sense are the only safety feature I need to ensure I don't put the car in gear while it's rolling.
Is there a way, either through coding or physically altering the vehicle to disable this feature so you can put the car in gear without your foot on the brake pedal? |

The E46 SMG transmission does have this safety interlock: if the car is not moving, the brake pedal must be depressed before the transmission will shift into First or Reverse.
Similarly, if a E46 door is opened the transmission will drop out of gear and shift into Neutral. There are no dealer or user programming options or coding language that address that OEM setup on the E46, and I have never heard of any for the E9x generation. |

If you drag the brake you will be able to open the door and not have it jump into N

Since it seems that everyone's intent is on making this a joke... Yep... I'm trying to keep it right on the line where I don't cause manifold damage.

It was a semi serious question. How can you be under a modern m3 doing much of anything for tuning to require a mod to be able to turn it on from outside the car?

When you run out of gas, you can also use diesel in that E46

Reminds me of when I was trying to set up the 4 carbs on a V12 E type auto...when finally setting up the tickover with the engine in gear I thought a quick blip of the throttle might help settle the tickover - even with the handbrake on the car still shot off across the hanger I was in.
