Back up camera installed at dealership?
As the title states, is it possible to have a deal install a back up camera?
Back up camera is only to be had with executive package (stupidest thing I've ever heard). And want to know can a dealer simply install the camera, shouldn't be hard to wire the camera to the nav screen. Before anyone ask why I don't just get the executive package, I just don't need it. I know I won't use the HUD and everythibg else is just whatever, not worth $4300. All I need is the backup camera. Last edited by TselaG80; 02-25-2015 at 10:19 PM.. |

Doubtful. It's packaged that way for a reason.
Best bet is probably to go with an aftermarket backup cam. Gotta be a few out there....

These are your two options if you want the oem look.

Wait a few months for the 2016, they may make it standard to comply with upcoming laws, with an additional base price hike I'm sure. I strongly dislike the Exec package as well.

I can't stand when they don't do al la carte. Just about every other model allows you to do the HUD for $1200. That's really the only option I need from that pack.

Retractable headlight washers should be cold weather package along with the heater steering wheel.
Comfort Access keyless entry, while a nice feature, not something I need or use. Rear view camera, I prefer just the sensors. Satellite radio with 1 year subscription, not sure how that's relevant in this package. |

It's a total rip off I feel, for the fact that a back up camera is standard now days on a Honda but not a $70K+ Bmw blows my mind.
Idc for heated steering wheel (makes hands sweaty) retractable head light washers are useless, HUD is cool but not needed. I just want the camera ️haha. |

Yea I know its 2018, but one can hope they'd be proactive about it. Its borderline silly to force customers into a 4k "package" for something you can find in a Honda. On the other hand, one good say its smart business in the way of making money. Doesn't do a lot for customer loyalty/satisfaction though.

Besides making more money by grouping "nice to have" options with "must have", packages reducs the production complexity of different variations. It helps stabilize the supply base and production forecasts. Of course in markets that demand individual options (i.e. Germany), they offer more a la carte options.
