Replica's, oh replica's. I need your help with lips.

So there seems to be an evident divide on this forum regarding replica's. As someone who works in the fashion industry, I am not the biggest fan of replica's. BUT, I've found a different sort of appreciation for replica's when regarding to aesthetic parts to my car. It's an E90 M3.

I live in Connecticut & commute to uconn, so between the snow, salt, shitty roads, hills, drops, potholes, & so on, a front lip for me has a life expectancy of 2-4 weeks. I can no longer justify dishing out thousands on carbon fiber parts that'll end up cracked in half or on the side of the road during a snowstorm.

With that said, I am not familiar with what replica's are out there. I've tried doing a bit of research & come across a couple things, but need some more guidance.

Can anyone point out some good replica's? Any good sellers on ebay? Any vendors on here? I know of jbspeed but that's about it. I'd like decent quality & fitment knowing that I can't expect too too much in regards to that. I don't want to dish out too much money either. Like I said, most lips don't last me long. Additionally, would possibly be interested in a rep diffuser too.

jbspeed offers guaranteed fitment don't they? i would go with them. they have a wide variety and pricing is fair. i got a rock chip on my cf splitters the other day. didn't even bother caring because for the price i paid they are still worth it. now if i had gone oem i would be crying like a baby.

ModeCarbon has a good following on here. I am on my second V1 GTS lip on my E90 M3 and happy with their fitment, quality, and customer service.

In this situation, paying for the real deal is just silly because it will be torn up with the roads and debris and and up looking terrible.

Definitely better to spend less on a replica when it is being abused. Vorsteiner replicas are pretty popular.

But I also think challenge offers a nice plastic lip which is the durable version of the carbon lip while also offering more clearance.

Great thread. I've got the same issue and had good luck with the rep front lips on my E46M3.

I am very happy with my poly 3d design ebay lip. Fitment is spot on and looks great.

Yes: A4Auto has pretty decent prices, I got my lip for $400 shipped and fitment was pretty good.

Emotors2000 is solid on eBay, not sure if they have lips for the M, but spoilers and other products they do carry are high quality and low prices

Any recommendations for cf splitter replicas, rear diffusers, and cf mirror caps? I've heard good things from mod bargains but wanted to see what else was out there.

Anything in general. It seems like jbspeed is reliable. And given that they're the cheapest I've seen so far I may go with them.

JBSPEED is legit. I got many parts from him. Send him an email for the best price.

JBspeed or JL Motoring. I'm very happy I went with a replica lip. That thing hits everything, so now I only have to cry over $500 vs $1000 lol.

Anyone ever run any of the poly lips off of ebay? Curious as to how they fit & hold up. Poly's flexibility would be good for me.

What about the replica factory splitters that go on the lower intakes, rather than an entire lip?

http://www.jbspeed.com/bmw-cf-carbon...rs-for-e9x-m3/

(I have no idea if those are actually functional or purely cosmetic)

I thought carbon fiber was supposed to be tough. That's one of the reasons it's so expensive

I'd say it's pretty tough. The issue isn't necessarily with the CF itself, but overall construction of the piece. I'm pretty sure these lips aren't constructed to the same standards as the CF monocoque tubs used in high end exotics.
