Did I overpay my M3 too much?
So I bought my M3 in September 2014, and I think I overpaid the car a lot now that I started looking at what they are selling for. What do you guys think? These are the specs:
Year: 2012 Miles: 38,000 Model:E92 Optionals: Competition package, 19' wheels, carbon roof, and everything else except cold weather Package. Color: Space Gray Interior: Two tone red and black with carbon trim Price: $48,000 What do you think? Do you think I will loose a lot when I resale the car? It now has 41k miles and I will lose warranty soon when I hit 50k. Any input and opinions are appreciated. |

$48k was somewhat reasonable. You should've had it CPO'd. As far as your question about the value decreasing, of course it will. That happens will almost all vehicles unless you get lucky and grabbed a 1M at original MSRP. The original owner took the biggest percentage of depreciation. It's your turn to enjoy it until you get tired of it or the depreciation curve has slowed.

I think you are fine. Are there better deals out there? Yes. But there are certainly far worse deals out there, as well. You did fine. Congrats and enjoy the car.

Not too shabby for a 2012 with all of those options. All that matters is that you got the car you wanted for the price you wanted to pay. Congrats.

Hind sight is always 20/20. If you got the car you wanted and are comfortable with the price then enjoy it and don't worry if someone else got it for few grand less.
