Alternative to Rear PDC

For those who don't want to mess up the rear bumper with PDC sensors, here is an alternative you can use if you have navi.

Reversing camera

I know it costs more but it saves the bumper and really works fantastic; we have it on our other car.

I wish we have the option of not having it in the front, then I would the front camera also.

On our other car, the camera is mounted hidden above the trunk handle by the license plate light. This camera will let you see about 15 feet backwards.

EDIT: and yes, it will fit. If you click "Distance systems, cruise control" at the top of the page, you will also find out about the front camera and also the round setup (front, rear and sides)

Thanks for this info. How do you display the image? Does it interface with the navigation screen and iDrive? How about wiring?

I had BMW install ours so not sure what is all involved with the install. I does interface with the navi, just put it in reverse and the navi becomes the camera screen, take it out of reverse and back to navi or iDrive view.

I plan on buying this kit prior to heading back to the states. I really don't think install could be all that bad.

are there any videos of it...I also like the idea of the round setup, not sure how they would install it in the side mirrors though, I do see how it could fit in the rear and front....the side would save you from messing up the rims which would be great

the PDC doesn't show that much on the bumper it really doesn't look bad at all especially if you go with a dark color

You never had close calls with running over things you can't see in your mirrors?

say what you will about it but this is actually a dealbreaker for me...you have no idea how useful it is for parallel parking especially when scrambling for a parking spot on campus when you are late as hell for class...also when backing out of a normal parking space it helps to see a bit around the corner especially with these idiot drivers who arent paying attention driving around the parking lot...

anyway...is that where it is mounted for the e9x? i was told it was mounted onto a license plate frame...and another dealer told me it didnt exist

oh also...the round system would be really really good...especially for those with very low front overhangs...
