Do we have Internet in our M3/4's?

I am trying to see if I have Internet in my car and I can't make it work... to see it like in the picture attached here. Can we activate the Internet in our cars?

Does it share it too with other devices? That is driving me insane! The only reason the Audi is till in the garage is that too often it has to be our only connection to the unreal world. A storm (a normal person calls it a bit of wind, here it's a storm) knocks out ours for days at the time.

I don't see that "Internet" there in Connected Drive in my car. Is there any package or option that I am missing on my car that enables this?

Mine works. In Canada, you do need to get the "Connected Drive" package for it to work. We get 1 year feee internet subscription with the "Connected drive" package. You need to pay yearly subscription after that. The connected drive feature seem to be standard in the US, so I don't know if you need to renew internet subsricption after one year.

I will call BMW tomorrow to talk to a Genius, hopefully they can tell me how to make it work.

Im on connected drive with all the bells and whistles.
But no internet option.

Problem solved in less than 5 minutes!
My dealer just sent me the solution for the Internet problem, I will try to translate it as best as possible to English
This is the technical info he sent me regarding this issue. "As I indicated the system was restarted randomly I've noticed the same behavior on several cars already, still don't know exactly how often it restarts itself but to regain functionality should restate BMW services , the car must recognize that services have to reactivate the Internet.
Follow this easy steps in this specific order:
As a first step we need to remove all devices (bluetooth phone he means) in the car and the car VIN on the mobile device; then activate the option to share internet (personal hotspot on iPhones) and pair the phone to the car BT, being coupled phone and car, we need to access the Connected Drive menu and give 2 clicks to the right until you get to the sub menu where the option to upgrade the BMW Service appears, do the update and after you will be able to see that the Internet option is active again on the main menu of the Connected Drive

It works believe me, don't update the BMW services until your erase all bluetooth phones paired to the car and viceversa. Also don't forget to have personal hotspot or internet sharing service active on your phone before updating BMW services

Didn't work. My connected drive doesn't say BMW Services on the top it says BMW Assist. From what I remember in the E90 M3, you couldn't have both.

In the USA you need to have an active BMW Online subscription (Comes with Navigation and is free for the first 3 yrs of ownership) to access BMW Internet.

BMW Internet is a separate option and costs $100/yr. It uses the car's own SIM card (3G Speeds) to access the internet and is only available when the vehicle is stationary. If you're interested in subscribing just push your SOS button.

Should internet be on here as well or is that lumped into ConnectedDrive? Well below 3 years of ownership.

Where do you have that contract? I haven't seen any BMW Assist contract through my papers.

Personally I do not think it's worth it. You can do everything BMW Internet does, on your smartphone. It is $100 for unlimited data though, and having websites show up your Idrive is pretty cool, but once again you can pretty much use your phone to do the same exact thing. Also keep in mind that you will only get 3G speeds so it may be slow at times.

It appears as if you have a BMW Online subscription, but not a BMW Internet subscription. They are two separate things and I don't know why BMW chose to name the services so similarly. It ends up confusing people. On the newer cars, the Internet option appears after you call BMW Assist and subscribe to BMW Internet.
