Not sure if this was posted before but a glowing review...

3508 pounds on their scales and they make note it is still a substantial car. 3500 pounds in 2015 is featherweight! Corvette weighs more, Ferraro is close, I mean I get long ago 3500 was a lot but this is the lightest thing out there practically in this performance range

The my friends c7 z51 is 3430 on his corner scales with a full tank and heavily optioned . So no it's not lighter than any corvette except being essentially the same weight as the new Z06 .

We're seeing the same kind of timeline that we saw with the E9x.

Much gnashing of teeth for the first round of reviews. Then, once the dust settles... WOW, what a completely awesome car!!!

Not too surprising, but really cool nonetheless.

Just about exactly my thought process when I bought mine. There are more luxurious cars for the price (but barely), there are a couple of faster cars for the price, but there weren't any that were as fast, as luxurious, rode as well and handled as well for the price.

I can drive clients to lunch, and they don't even comment on how stiff it rides, then autocross on Sundays and beat up the Audis, C63's and even a couple of 'vettes.

Why are Edmunds performance test numbers always a lot higher than the other magazines? 0-60 in 4.4 secs is an awful attempt.

Great find, thanks! They reviewed my exact car (minus the Ceramics). Edmunds isn't the most serious car review site out there, but its good to add to the others.

I love my car more every day. My wife is sick of hearing about it.

I was wondering if they started in second gear, or had all the nannies on?

Agreed! Soon it will be the performance bargain car to have 5/5

It clearly says 4.1 w/ a 1ft roll out. I'm sure thats how the DCT gets a 3.9 too. 4.1 in a manual w/ 1ft on stock tires is pretty good IMO.

Not exactly - Corvette Stingray is 3298 lbs.
http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-st...mensions.html#

Ferrari is another league on many counts.

M3 is lighter than regular 3-series, and weights almost the same as 1/2-series, but still a bit porky.
The initial stated goal was to have M3 weight in at under 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs). Obviously, BMW could not lay off the weisswurst's entirely...

Usually BMW official numbers do not include a 1ft roll out.

To be honest, I thought some of the reviewers would get better times, given the engine seems under-rated. Seems like we're nearing the limits of traction on a RWD car.

It's great they had a 6MT, CCB's and Speed Cloth.

Pretty accurate review, I thought. M4: Jack of all trades, king of none (but pretty close).

Great review.

For the accel numbers, totally spot on for a manual trans in varying conditions. This car is totally at the edge of RWD traction. Especially in a m/t car.

The comments on comfort are nice to read too. I drove 2 people: a ~250 pound guy and a ~125 pound women yesterday 3 hours round trip including on some very rough roads. I used comfort mode on the suspension but I could tell they were completely comfortable (albeit the heavy guy was spilling out of his pass seat and his arm was basically sitting on the i-drive controller)

One interesting thing is almost none of these reviews does a genuine mild test drive or highway trip to test fuel economy. In 28 degree weather, on winter tires, and driving ~400 extra pounds of people/stuff from flat southern PA to the more mountainous poconos I got 26mpg yesterday including traffic lights, low speed stuff, and lots of highway.
