check the rubber gaskets and seals on your door. you may have a pinch somewhere that is allowing air to come in especially at high speed. take a hair drier and have someone move it around the door while you sit inside and feel where the warm is coming in.

My car is going in on Monday to address a similar problem (amongst others). While I'm not experience a particular wind noise when just cruising along, but if the wind is really blowing, it sounds like the air is coming in to the cabin.

Hi
Sorry for late reply, I went to Williams Liverpool. I took it in today for them to have a quick look.I noticed that the front wing( drivers side) appears not to fit, where it meets the back of the wing mirror, it appears to be lifting, not on the other side. I have checked two other X5s one was like mine the other ok. The Technician is a very experienced guy ( The Best), he suggested a new seal as no door adjustment can be done, as for the wing, he suggested its like that to deflect the wind. Possible BS! No defo BS, Body Panels should fit properly. I have to say this car has a few annoying faults Wind noise Stop Button at times refuses to stop engine until you press it several times more that two times Fan appears to strain at times with strange noises, really annoying. i drive at times has a mind of its own, putting camera on for no reason, rebooting mid drive, never remembering your settings and apps just work when they want to. Rear seat stitching coming apart. And whats really annoying is the centre arm rest just squeeks away as you drive, as does the door trim by the window. To be honest I fear the repair more that the fault so may just pass this to the wife, after the kids have been in it for a week, these points will be the least of my problems. Incidentally her E70 is awaiting 4 new alloys as they are being replaced under warranty Been on order since Sept 14! Please let me know how you get on, to be honest I had it with BMW and given the will to complain up! Same BS different car! TTFN |

Some of the UK road tests for the F15 have commented on the road/wind noise the car makes at motorway speeds. I'm left wondering whether there is some fault with seals or have BMW overlooked something so basic that nothing can be done about it?

I've posted the same issue before. There is a lot of wind buffeting noises outside the driver's door. It's very annoying , and starts at 35 mph. Service tech says it's normal. My old 2006 x5 was much more quiet. My brother's new MDX is very very quiet at highway speed. I feel that it is not the door seals. Rather, I there is an aerodynamic flaw that produces excessive noise. I've even taped over the decorative side air vents, to no avail.
