If you are talking about the head light symbol with the A it is in fact the high beam assist.

And no, its not a "just europe" feature as far as I know. It is optional though.

I retrofitted this on my E92 M3 2 months ago. Works great, but rarely used. Only did it because I was able to find the mirror with the camera on ebay for a reasonable price.

I didn't even know that high beam assist existed. Owned an e90 fully equipped prior to picking up my e90 m3 2011.75 now. COOL!

The automatic high beam assist will automatically turn your high beams on in very dark conditions, and switch them off when it senses oncoming traffic or raised light conditions up ahead. I have it on my X5 and have found that it is just sensitive enough to work extremely well. Didn't know this was an option on the E9x.

Cool feature. How do you turn it on? A switch? I never noticed anything like it in the owners manual.

I think it's just when you have ur headlights in auto mode it turns on as well. I can't find anything else in options etc. This is cool though!

Not quite. Here is the description from my manual. Put the headlights in auto mode as you describe but then you need to move the turn-signal stalk forward like you are flashing high beams to activate the system...
