@ Mention tags

Apologies if I missed this but what's the deal now with @ to mention someone in a post. All you used to do was @username and the person you referred to knew you had referred to them.

Bimmerpost just likes to complicate things. I have no idea why. I'm assuming it's because sometimes people mentioned the wrong person because their name wasn't properly written, so they could tag anyone, lol. It's very annoying, and the system doesn't even work when you are editing a post later to mention someone. It's quite counter-intuitive in my opinion.

So that functionality is permanently broken now then it is?

Hmm, I just tested it and it work even better when you are on desktop. It gives you a drop down list of the name whom you tried to tag it to. But, on mobile app, you are screwed.

No, it's not. When you first comment on a post or reply with a quote, you can do a drop down when you enter the @ symbol. However, when you later edit that post and want to add another person it will not let you. This is specfically for your computer/desktop.

I don't ever use the mobile to add the @ because I know it doesn't work. I was referring to the desktop .

. I don't stop until I figure things out especially since I'm a creature of habit. Others also figured this out early on after the stupid change - sometimes we just have to mess around until we figure things out ourselves. This is why I wish or knew where BIMMERPOST makes these changes. Does anyone know if they publicly announce their forum changes anywhere? It seems very counterproductive to change things that people are so used to and like.

That one worked, lol. As I said before, it only won't work on the desktop IF you edit a current post and try to add the @ symbol then. It only works for new posts - BIMMERPOST if you're reading, time to fix some stuff in your html coding.

Yeah, the @ symbol never worked if you had a . or - or _ in your name. BB-Driver was one person I tried to post for his help, but it didn't allow me to.
