Can someone clarify rear LED lights
I can't find a clear answer to whether rear lights are led for all ways except turn signals and if that is the same as pre lci e92? I had lci e92 and trying to pinpoint how it was different than my f80? I don't think any of the pre lci e92 was led in rear riggt?

Correct. The pre-LCI e9x and current f8x taillight bulbs are halogen.

That is incorrect. All are halogen except for the tail lights (when the headlights are turned on). Brake, reverse and turn signals are halogen.

Based on how they light up, my impression is that all lights in the rear clusters of the car (brake, turn signal, reverse) are incandescent or halogen except for the actual tail lights strips that are LED illuminated. Last edited by CanAutM3; 09-11-2015 at 06:23 PM.. |

For all we care they have little sharks with laser beams on their heads stuffed into the light bulbs - as long as they work and look good - I'm good. a

I had a funny moment trying to shut down the lights a day ago. how the hell can I shut off the tail lights, but not the front ones?
I'm sure leds in all will be cool, but I'd like a real off position.

Have you owned other cars that could do that from the factory? I don't think I've ever seen that. Does the Q7 have that feature? I could just be out of the loop though.

An arrangement that produces the above outcome is when drivers with daytime running lights (DRL) forget to turn the lights on as darkness falls, but DRLs keep providing token forward illumination. When I see cars driven like that, I always wonder if the driver is intoxicated. a

I'm worried about his next owners, what if they are teenagers trying to sneak into their home without light waking up mom? Q7 will never be driven by a teenager. I could think of ten reasons to need to shut off the headlights, but I can't think of one to kill the rears. Sorry big M, no coffee in the house again.
