Post in general or DIY....That is the question

So I have a questions that I wanted to post about whether or not anyone has replaced the output shaft seal on the manual tranny before and I want it to get the most exposure.

Over at M3Forum we posted everything in the general section but over here it seems the DIY section has some pretty good activity.

I'm new here with you folks and don't want to get burned just yet.

So what's protocol...I ask the question here and post a DIY there?

And while I'm at it...My output shaft seal on my tranny is seeping I guess. Any DIY out there yet for this? Anyone seen this before? Would this be similar to replacing a seal on a differential? See pic below.

Thanks.

I would think either the DIY or the technical forums are much more suited for your question.
