POLL: DCT, Mostly Manual or Auto?
Just wondering how DCT owners mostly drive their cars ...
To pre-empt the MT guys: "DCT Sucks! HA ha" "Best way to drive a DCT is get a 6MT - W00t!" "Real enthusiasts drive a 6MT! Get it? I'm super hardcore!"

I don't have my DCT M4 yet, but I think I would drive in D in the city, or in bad weather conditions, and in S mode any other time.
Which would end up being 50-50.

Nice poll GrussGott - especially since it was your first time (I've never created any polls - so you're ahead of me)!
Manual mode in my opinion is much more fun. I just like automatic mode for: 1) heavy rush hour traffic; 2) talking on phone in car; 3) drinking coffee; and, one of the most frequent reasons given on this forum - 4) EATING A CHEESEBURGER - YEAH BABY.... |

I voted 100% manual because is it the closest to what I do in the options offered. In reality, it is probably 95% manual 5% automatic. The car with DCT is so much more engaging when using manual mode. I have only owned MT cars before getting into my DCT E92 and much rather be the one deciding which gear is to be used. The only occasion I use D mode is in very heavy traffic or if I need to fiddle with the iDrive. |

I don't have DCT anymore, but when I did, it was in manual all the time. I think in two years with the car I may have driven in 'D' for 2 hours. Engaging it was infrequent and short lived. As much as I like driving a manual transmission, I think there's better than 50% chance my next car will be DCT again.

Is there a poll for everyone's favorite/most used driving settings? As in eco/sport/sport+ for throttle response, DCT, suspension and steering? Kind of interested in the stats.

I drove Dct in manual mode 99% of the time. It was only engaging for me because I was constantly looking at the screen to figure out what gear I was in. Mt there's never any doubt. Mt gets my vote

You should have made it so you can see the members who voted so we can request bans for anyone voting that they drive in auto mode more than 50% of the time

About 90% manual. I'd use paddle shifts about 75% of the time and the stick for the rest.

Wow, combining the last three choices gets ~50% vs ~30% for 100% manual... That actually seems pretty accurate based on my read of posts.
