Limp Mode

What next?

I have an out of warranty '08 e90 with 34k mi that has now gone into limp mode 3 times over the last month. I have attached a picture of the error messages that popped up.

Each time this happened, the car started and it went into limp mode right away and all the errors shown in the picture fired immediately. After the car sat for a day or more it came out of limp mode but had a couple of the error messages still reporting. After several more drives the error messages completely cleared and were not reporting and the car seemed to drive as if nothing were wrong.

After doing some searching on this forum, it seems there are several different possible causes of the combination of these errors but in order to begin a diagnosis, the error codes must be read. As suggested I purchased a BT Cable do such.

I have run a scan with the cable/software and no errors are reported. Incidentally the car is also not reporting any errors through idrive either. I would have thought these errors would stay logged past the failure for later reporting? Am I missing something here? Do I need to continue driving the car until limp mode occurs and immediately scan as to catch the error codes?

Thank you advance for guidance you could provide!

Jason

Go to auto zone and see if they can pull a code. It could be an electrical gremlin, but still. There's gotta be SOME trace of an error happening.

yeah, agreed, wish you didn't spend $ for the BT tool. Auto parts store can pull generic codes that'll be good enough to tell you what it is. I know dealership are able to pull historic codes, but I take it you don't want to pay them.
