First...and Last Mod??

So...OEM Exhaust Mod was finished and installed today. Sound is better than stock, not too loud - but noticeably deeper when the car is under load. I also painted the canister flat black, looks better as well (IMHO). For the $$ - best mod you can do...

I will change out the air filter this weekend for a K&N (again personal preference)...and that will probably be the end of the mods for a while....I say this because the weather has been nice/sunny here in NC and I have had the opportunity to drive this car to work all week. Out of the box - this car is pretty much perfect.

I was just about to make the same thread. Had mine for a week and was really impressed with the difference in sound. Then the other day the temp got up to 50+ so I dropped the top...and my jaw dropped. You can really hear the exhaust with the top down and I felt like I was driving an exotic.

Like many other first time owners I searched for the right exhaust for the right price and nothing comes close to the oem mod for the money. I Did the perforated mod and the tone and volume is perfect for me...not too loud but aggressive when you want it to be.

I have a corsa on my convertible... I hate putting up the top, mostly because I can't hear the exhaust when I do!

Nice, any DIY pics? Did you do the modification? ACM method (Straight Pipe) or 1 perforation pipe covered per side?

Drove home today with the top down - Truly amazing sound. I was actually looking for errands to run before finally coming home

No pics of the mod during the process - might post a quick pic of the exhaust installed and vid of the sound. I have all the tools and knowledge for a DIY, except the knowledge and one tool needed to weld the canister back together. I did the perforated mod, but had both pipes on each side replaced. The canister is painted flat black - really looks amazing.

This guy...is probably right

Maybe a little black vinyl wrap for the chrome trim, blacked out kidney grills...and what else...?

Exhaust are subjective choices. The OEM "mod" kills a lot of the high harmonics that makes the car sound more exotic and increases lows.

I've heard it in person, compared to a well broken in stock exhaust, i'll pick the stock anytime.

Just did mine yesterday. Replaced the two perforated pipes with solid ones. Cold start sounds awesome now.
