Just bought an E90M - what next?
I recently purchased an 2011 E90 M3 and absolutely LOVE IT! 55K miles for $35K. The car has the competition package, DCT, Laguna Seca metallic blue, has Akra Slip-on exhaust, Akra springs, 275/255 super sports. It sets off car alarms every time I drive into underground parking. Love it. What else should I do to this car [if anything]? It seems pretty perfect to me (especially since I owned a bloody Prius for 2 years so I could afford to get this!)

Take it to the track!
And that's not Laguna Seca Blue. Either Le Mans or Interlagos. Hard to tell outside of direct sunlight. Congrats though!!

congrats first,
what should you do now? I think you should drive the hell out of it all the mods are there, what more are you looking for? I never advice people to jus tune the car as soon as they get it, especially high performance cars (ex) AMG, RS, M) when they are well sorted out/modified from the factory sport division. It is well tuned, it is already a quite unique car, now just drive and enjoy Your patience jus got paid after 2 yrs of prius, now go drive it like you stole it

Go to a BMW dealer and extend the factory warranty! Then go drive the piss out of it!

Nice car, pretty sure Akra doesn't make springs though!

+1... best deal I've seen in a while!
I'd do black grills and that's it. Awesome car!

That's not Laguna Seca Blue, it looks like Interlagos or Le Mans Blue. If Le Mans, then it is actually my favorite color for the E90 M3.
The Akra exhaust is a legit piece and i'd recommend getting the Evo (full system) since you already have the slip-on. As for your springs, Akra doesn't make springs LOL OEM+ is the way to go. Although i love a certain style when it comes to M3s, i feel like the E9X has come to a point (as a result of age and depreciation) where it is certainly more special and unique to see a relatively virgin one than a modded one. But tastefully modded ones do exist so its up to you to find a balance, good luck! Great ride though and welcome, you're gonna love the M3

Looks like stock suspension to me so I would do springs, grills, spacers, front lip, oneighty headlights, and x-pipe with tune.
Car looks great though. Love the color. |

If you love it the way it is, leave it alone. In a year after you are more familiar with it and have been reading about mods for a while, you will know what you want. Bang for the buck in performance is test pipes and tune.
Research the rod bearing issue and decide whether it is something you want to address preventatively, insure against or just not worry about because it probably won't happen to you but you are ok with a $10k engine repair in the event it does. |
