Did you buy used or new

With all the F8x talk, I wanted to get a feel for the crowd here, is this mostly first owners from new or a bunch of used M buyers, like me .

I'd imagine most owners that bought/leased new have moved on to the f8x platform. From here on it'll be mostly second, third, and fourth owners asking the same questions asked by the early pioneers.

Personally, I wish I could have ordered mine new but with my 335 lease ending late in 2014, I missed out on the chance. So I had to buy mine second hand, but I made sure it was as new as I could afford. Looked, smelled, and drove like new, a CPO with 16k miles on it. 0 regrets so far and I saved a bit on depreciation!

Saw a E92 M3 at the dealership 73k sticker. When i got my M3 the new M3 was coming out in a year or so. I had to have the V8. could have afford F80 or E92.

Leased mine. When the lease was over I ordered a C7, but when it arrived I decided I liked the m3 more and bought it. I've never had a car for more than 18 months until the m3. I've had this one for almost 4 years and I still love it as much as the day I bought it

2012 Used with 22k on it in July this year. No regrets and I've loved every minute with it. I plan on keeping the car forever, FOREVER! I could have waited a couple of years for the F80 but I don't like the motor that's in it, had to have the V8. But that's MHO!

This is the philosophy that I take with every car purchase. I'm not the guy that has to have the newest version of everything. I like what i like and I like to pay what i want to pay for it lol. With that said i got mine with about 50k miles on it. Loved every mile of it since.

If it's a car you want specifically to your tastes, then I can see that, but since I don't really care about individual options or anything, I don't think I'll be buying any new M cars.

Yup. Bought mine new in 2010 and will be moving on to a Cayman GTS when it arrives in a month or so.

For those 2nd, 3rd, etc. owners is your best friend as all the questions have been asked and answered years ago! Also, it's a good idea to

Good luck and have fun, the E9x M3's are a real blast and the last of a dying breed!

With the amount of depreciation these cars take, I always find it smarter to buy used. If I wanted to spend $80k on an M4 out the door, I'd rather have a used 997.1 GT3.
