another interior rattle question

Coming from an F10 M5 I was very dissapointed in the interior quality of the M3.

Despite making several DIY rattle fixes my M3 still rattles and makes cracking noises over bumps. It went to the dealers that 'had a go' at sorting the issues but after a few weeks it sounds cheaper than a 10 year old GM car, its not the door rubbers but the centre console and behind the dash somewhere, on a smooth road its fine but a slightly rough surface its not nice.

Is this going to be an inherent problem on the F8X cars?

No rattles in mine. Pebbles screeching in the brake shields, oh yes. Rattles, no.
Does it feel as plush and posh as the M5, no thank god.

I found that I only get a crackling popping noise from the ac vent trim when driving over large or rough lane dividers or big cracks in the road.

I can duplicate the sound when I press my fingers on the trim. Thinking about popping it out and putting felt tape under it.

Anyone know how to pop that ac vent trim off?

It's the black polished trim that rattles/makes sounds.

My last two cars were an e60 and f10 so this is all new to me but yes mine rattles, creaks, snaps, crackles and pops. And its getting worse to the point I dont know if i can take driving around in a bowl of rice krispies any longer. Driving me fn insane to the point I take my wife with me everywhere because listening to her is less annoying than the car.

hehe.

i've got some rattles.

going to be part of the car, the suspension is pretty harsh.

point of reference, my wife's 2010 e350 is way worse, creaks, rattles, galore.

my old c63 had a rattle in the rear sunshade, annoyed me to hell.

butter up your SA with a gift and have them tear it apart.

I really hope mine doesn't rattle. I didn't pay $76k + for a vehicle that is going to rattle everywhere it goes. That would annoy me beyond belief.

Mine rattled as well! I spent countless of times at the dealer arguing with them to fix it. It came to the point that the only solution was to either have the sunshade up OR blast my music

My 996TT rattled and the new 140k 991 GT3s rattle like all hell according to their owners, part of owning a high performance vehicle that I'm happy to out up with. That said, I'd prefer no rattles and am glad that I only had one and that was from the drivers side AC vent.

Did you know that if you wear ear plugs, the "creaking" sounds disappear. That maneuver may not be the best for safety...keep an eye out for EMS, etc.

The F80 interior is a POS. It's a huge downgrade from the F10, get used to hating it.

The interior in my M4 is fantastic in my opinion. The interior in my E46 M3 was great, but this is levels above. In addition, after 2,000 miles, I have no squeeks, rattles, creaks at all. I love it

Is it really that bad? It does not have the fit and finish of a Mercedes or Audi...but a POS...hardly.

Why are people surprised by rattles just cause the car costs north of 70k? At the end of the day the interior is just a f30. Bmw doesn't do anything extra or special to dampen the interior noises. So take the standard f30 interior and stiffen up the ride by 30-40% and you'll have your rattles. Every 328i or 335 loaner I've ever had was dead quiet zero rattles. This is my 3rd m3 and all have rattled. My f80 actually rattles a little less than the e92, surprisingly but in due time I'm sure it'll get worse

Because a $20,000 Camry doesn't rattle and squeak, a $20,000 Kia Sportage doesn't rattle and squeak... so the F30 shouldn't either
