NAV update?

Just purchased 2015 M4 it has the 2014 NAV GPS installed is the 2015 update included under the service warranty or do I have to pay for the update

My SA told me that update isnt free unless theres a recall on it which ticked me off considering at the time my car was 2 months old and i have the 2014 version too. Depends on who you talk to in order to get the update for free.

I just went to install the 2015 maps update and didn't require a code, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

I'm sure you can find the download somewhere and try it yourself.

The download is available on here and you can get an authorization code through vendors on here for a very reasonable price.

Looking up your version and type of nav is in the nav options menu. Go here to download the update.

Just download, follow the directions, but don't worry about the authorization code at first. My 2015 M3 already had an update authorized, so I didn't need a code. I just plugged in the USB and it recognized and downloaded. I've also updated two older cars and got the code from Dracon; worked awesome.

Not sure if that works on current vehicles. The M235i convertible is the first.

My understating is that this will apply to all cars with an installed SIM card, Option 6AE, which includes the F8x series.

Looks like the update is purchased through BMW parts dept with a update code. The customer can then download not the car via USB port with a flash drive. Retail looks to be 110$

Just scanning through the info will have to check up on it more tomorrow when Im at the store

looks like its just newer maps and doesn't look like a interface change. but I could be way off Im not a parts guy
