M3 Windshield duplicate images at night...

Good evening everyone.

Has anyone noticed that the windshield doubles images at night?
This only happens at night and the lights of other cars appear duplicated and sometimes the traffic plates too, if I'm in hight beams, like a hologram or a ghost image ...
I find it very tiring for the eyes, in fact I think it's dangerous because we have more difficulty in judging the distance from other cars ...
I tried to take some pictures, but it's not easy at night.
Anyone else notice this? Is it because of head up display?

Sorry for my english...

Greetings from Portugal

No. My friend I would have an ophthalmologic exam. It sounds like you have halos with night vision.

This or the windshield is fouled with wax or something else? Maybe damaged in some way. I've never had this on any of my BMWs.

You are not crazy. I had this happen with a car I owned in the 90's. The windshield was angled just right that the light colored dash acted as a mirror of sorts.

Porsche even mentions this in the 991 brochure - warning people of the reflective properties of the light colored dash.

F8X cars have black dashes.

I've noticed that when street lights hit the black shiny trim parts at night they reflect into the windshield, particularly on the right half of the windshield.

My windshield is tinted and I have bad night vision, still don't have these issues. Maybe take it to the dealer.

My wife gets the "firework" look at night with oncoming cars and street lights.

He's not crazy. I have 20/15 vision and I see a second "halo" on other bmw's through the windshield. It is 100% definitely there and it seems to diminish/move closer to the actual headlights as the distance between the car and me shortens. I think its only noticed "at night" because the car headlights (and other headlights for that matter) are only on at night. Other BMWs are the most obvious to see this on thanks to the Angel Eye Halos.

I also have 20/15 vision and have never seen this. I think you're both nuts.

I don't know if anybody is nuts, but I've never seen it on the four BMWs I've owned.

OP, drive a different car, preferably a different brand to see if still happens. At least then you could narrow it down a little if the problem is your eyes or the windshield.

I noticed a slight double image once after I got into the seat that had been moved by my buddy. The angle was totally different from my eye level as he had the seat really high. That coupled with the original position of the HUD graphic seemed to cause a slight blurriness/double image until I moved the seat back into my normal spot.

Try playing with the position of the HUD image in the menu options.

Good morning everyone.

Thank you for your comments, some of them funny ...
Well, I have no problem in my eyes and it was for this reason that I found strange this situation ...
Right now I have two BMW cars and none have this problem.
I am sure it is something in the windshield and is not because of the reflection in the dash.
I'll wait a few more comments ...
Thank you for your attention and kindness.

Best regards from Portugal.

An optometric exam would work as well =) (I'm a Optometrist working at one of the largest hospitals in LA in the Ophthalmology center).

So do I lol, that makes two "HUD" double image viewers who claim to have no eye issues! I dunno if any of you have ever driven a car with heating filament built into the windshield, but my mom's Range Rover Sport had that and OMG did I hate driving it at night! Lights "Firework exploded" everywhere! She thought her Lasik surgery had failed horribly until I complained about it too hahaha. Maybe it is HUD coating related? Or maybe me and Grey are just fucking weird IDK. . .
