Seat indentations from firearm

Has anyone found a seat/bolster cover for the F8x front seats yet? I am trying to something to protect the leather a bit more, I am finding I am leaving indents, marks in the leather. And yes I keep it moist.

Just use BMW Leather Cleaner/Conditioner 2-3 times per year, you'll be fine. Leather is meant to break-in and age over time, but leather conditioner can help slow down the aging process.

You paid good dollars for leather seats, so enjoy them. Age and marks give leather character. The best leather seats are the ones that are broken in over years.

No its worse than that.. I carry a firearm, and in all the other bmws I've had the bolster hasn't been this aggressive. When I get out of the car it leaves a slight indentation.

So as you put on more mileage, the seats will be a perfect fit for you.

Don't bother trying to save the car for the next owner.

I've definitely never seen the hulk emoticon better used. . . hahaha.

Seriously though its your car and if you carry and you need to carry and use a hip/lower back holster then its going to indent as you described. I mean there is plenty of space in the door card pocket if its a huge issue and I'm sure you could put a holster in there without too much of an issue if it really bothers you.

I don't mind standing my ground.. just looking at resale later. it doesn't take a lot of gear to ruin a leather seat. I have seen some jacked up vehicle seats due to gun belts and gear

I might just switch to a shoulder or appendix carry

I always carried between 4-5, using a super tuck. I'd put it in the glove box while driving for this reason.

Yeah, fair enough man. Not a problem up here but wish you well in finding a solution.

Are you Don Johnson?

The idea of having to carry a firearm while driving a car is completely alien to me on this side of the pond. Even the armed cops in the UK carry their weapons in the boot. Sorry, 'trunk' if you're reading this in the colonies.

I store my weapon in the secret compartment to the left of the steering wheel. Fits perfect.

Haha, yeah I have noticed that when I am overseas. An how you guys have mobile gun ships driving around with weapons if needed. Which is awesome, but in the states the long arms are either in the trunk or inside the cabin on the rack.

Holster in the door panel is a good place to stow the weapon while driving. Then re-holster when you get to your destination. If your good with your left hand it's a handy spot ICE. I couldn't carry in these seats.

I back pocket carry an LCP so when I get in my M3 I just put it in the console. The pocket left of the steering wheel would be best. I might do that. I understand your frustration. I always take mine out when I'm in a car with nice seats to avoid extra depression/stretching of the leather. I've had some leather seats have some pretty pathetic leather stretching in the seat bottoms in the past. I think new cars don't have as forgiving leather as decades past.

Yeah, it sucks.. However, I will just have to deal with it in 30 months when I upgrade lol. Until then I will just keep it lubed up.

Wow. I didn't realize how many people had firearms while driving!

I know its deviating from the OP bolster inquiry, but . . . Is wearing a firearm like a wristwatch or ring? Something that you just grown accustom or a requirement - vs a preference.

It seems cumbersome! Coming from a guy that dislikes anything in his pant pockets. Actually, I don't like anything but a credit card, cash and state id. The rest is just a nuisance.

Funny I get a slight indentation in my seat from my other piece when I drive.
