Need help setting sale price (M4)...

So, I took delivery on 8/4, have 1800 miles, and I'm gong to sell/trade the M4.

Long story short - I traded my 2010 ZR1 on a new 2015 M4. Unfortunately, I've never been able to establish an emotional connection to the BMW. For this reason, I'm trading/selling the M4 for a new Jaguar F-Type R.

Here are the specifics:
AY w/Black Leather
1800 miles
Break-in Service complete
Options:
Austin Yellow Metallic
Black Full Merino Leather
Exec Pkg
Lighting Pkg
DCT
Adaptive Suspension
19" Blk Wheels
Harmon Kardon Surround

Also has:
IND black grille surrounds, black side markers, black M4 badge & 35% tint

Car is currently in a heated, climate controlled storage facility in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

Please let me know what you think a fair asking price would be for an outright sale.

Thanks in advance.

$10k off msrp is a reasonable starting point.

Thank you - I thought $70k firm was a good number.

Surprisingly, the few dealers I've visited have been rather generous in their trade in quotes (I do realize that the selling price of the Jag factors in)

Looks to be in excellent condition...your trade in will probably get you closer to $62,000 to $65,000 (black book trade in)...the dealer will definitely be able to sell it for >70 and make a sizeable profit. Make sure you fetch a good deal on the other car, otherwise they will be screwing you big time.

The MSRP for your car is around $80,125. ED Invoice for your car will be right around 69k and US invoice about 74.5k. You have to remember that being within 8-10% of the price of a new car, it can get very tempting for a new buyer to go with a new car vs used especially because the finance rates are a lot better for a new car and the payment might work out the same for say a 70k vs a 75k car just based off the difference in the rate.

That said, I think asking 71k is a good starting point. The depreciation really sux but that is the trade off to sell a new car early. The options don't help either.

Good luck.

That's exactly what I traded in for an M4.

It's just that mine won't be here til the end of the month.
