Found pictures of my first car (2001)...1991 Accord Custom Painted LAGUNA SECA BLUE!
Bought a charcoal grey 1991 4 Dr Honda Accord Automatic Trans in 2000 @ 14 years old...By the time I got my "Juniors License" at 15 I had worked 3 jobs while attending high school to buy just about every mod available at the time...
Shaved door handles, Z3 Fenders, Went through 2 or 3 Fiberglass body kits before I realized fiberglass has no place on a lowered daily driven car LMAO... But after seeing a Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3 Convertible, I made one tasteful choice when I picked the new custom color... Also installed a JDM H22A 220HP DOHC VTEC 2.2L "J-SPEC" engine and converted the automatic car to stick after an expensive trip to the local junkyard...(Notice the P,R,N,D,D2, D1 in the original gauge clsuter) Blew the stock F22 engine by driving through a deep puddle with an AEM Cold Air Intake...This was when I realized that water can't be compressed Anyway, Did every mod under the sun, full coilovers, sway bars, 6 Custom Gauges (Only 3 or 4 worked)...Did ALMOST everything myself aside from the suspension and paint/body work...But this was the car I learned on, and it showed it, and spent 50% of the time not running, Just FYI, the OZ Racing rims have been photoshopped on, as I only have pics of the car with black steelies. I had these wheels only to come outside one monday morning to find my blue baby sitting on Cinder blocks... Now in my defense I was 15, and this was a year or 2 after the original Fast & Furious, this car was actually considered one of the coolest/fastest cars in my highschool....(Ran a 14.6 at West Hampton Drag Strip before it was shut down) Without further ado, I present quiet possibly the ugliest car ever to be created...

Also, Westhampton has a drag strip? I'm with you on the first car ricer tip. My first was a 1994 Celica that I got right out of high school in 1998. This is the only picture I have of it...I still miss it! Untitled by raek6g6, on Flickr |

Such a useful tool for us "ricers" at the time. And that Celica is clean. Such a simple car yet Im guessing many great memories. For some of us, our first car is like our first gf haha...And great photography BTW... I wanted the later body style celica with the VVTL believe it or not...

However, with the H22A ECU the car would not start. I narrowed it to a fuel problem but never could figure out why the ECU would not trigger an injector pulse. Had pressure, Injectors were good, injector resistor box was good, etc. Narrowed it all the way to a lack of output from the ECU, which I tried a few H22a ECUs, both USDM and JDM neither worked. So obviously there was a wire that needed to be repinned toa different spot. Eventually I just got the F22's ECU rev limiter raised, and got an APex'i VTEC controller. And VTEC was LOUD when hit early, but nothing like my next car...JDM B16A in a 91 CRX Si with a 150 Dry Shot After the CRiX (As we called it) Came the EVO VIII in 2003, Apex Silver bought brand new the day they hit the lot...Before most even knew what they were... But COMMON MAN post some EVO PICS, don't be shy. Lets see that bad boy! Pic # 1 & 2 The "CRiX" Pic #3 & #4 Are the Evo

If you really think about it, the M3 takes the the things I like most about all 3 of these cars and wraps into a nice package with tons of bonuses....
The styling of the Evo, obviously nicer but similar look and as the M badge has a legacy and a list of predecessors, each platform improving on the next; so does the Evolution. The high revving engines of the Honda's that make over 100HP/Liter... Also they share that linear power band us small V8 M3 guys love due to variable valve timing on both cars (VTEC & VANOS)... While VTEC does affect lift/duration as well as the timing of the valves at high RPM, I believe the VANOS only affects cam-shaft timing as the engine revs higher. I'd love to see a VTEC style valve control on an M3 platform, which like a turbo BOV or a super-charger "whine" the sound of VTEC switching on is addicting...

"Totalled Evo"
Quote:
It was all over the paper, heres a link: Evo Crashes into Tatoo Lous I "totalled" mine, but I was driving home from work at a light, and a woman with a suspended license and no insurance was smoking pot with her 16 year old daughter hit me. The damage really wasn't even bad. Near my house two kids were hanging a turn at an extremely high rate of speed lost control and hit a tree (both died instantly).. BUT HERE'S ME INSPECTING THE CAR AT THE BODY SHOP THE NEXT AM & The picture of my partners car in the tattoo shop.

yeah I owned it starting in 2004 at age 22...to be honest, I was pretty responsible. Mostly b/c it was my first time driving a manual full time, I was always terrified of blowing up my clutch.

Because I was the first one around with an Evo, I didn't know they had weak clutches, and trannys for that matter... Stock clutch blew at 3k miles. In 40k miles I rebuilt the trans numerous times (Synchros) and replaced the clutch 3 times also. Shift linkage fell apart on the track at West Hampton Drag Strip once. Horrible engineering on Mitsu's part, as everyone I know that has/had the evo 8/9 has went through numerous clutches and/or trannies.
