Seat Belt
Seems that if you let your seat belt retract on its own after you release it and don't slowly follow it through its path retracting back, then the Chrome buckle itself can hit the inner part of the door trim, driver or passenger side, either scratching or taking the trim down to the silver. Mine is looking like it's 2 yrs old not 2 weeks old.

Can you be specific about the trim piece? I ask because I think this is an M4-only issue if it's the piece I am thinking of. The M3 does not carry the lower dash trim strip to the doors like the M4 does. Of course it might not have been an issue with the M3 anyway due to the door size and presence of a B pillar - not sure.

Was an issue on E9X models as well.
Always thought wrapping the trim on the panel with clearbra would be a good idea to prevent any damage and retain an OEM-like appearance.
