Mode Carbon V2 lower lip...better way to install?
Hey everyone,
Looking for a different way to attach the lower portion of this lip (the V2 portion that attaches to the V1) The upper portion V1 is no problem its bolted and taped so it stays good. The lower portion V2 however, is just attached with 3m tape to the top portion V1. Over time the ends have started to come loose a bit, and honestly it looks kinda cheap. Any one attached the V2 a different way to the upper lip V1, other than just the 3M way?? Screws/Bolts or something? Please share your methods if different. THANKS Last edited by Sinful; 11-14-2014 at 06:39 PM.. |

Rivets. Or what I planned on doing was short machine screws thru the lower portion attaching to the upper portion. Worked great before I decided to not run the lower portion

I think they want you to double sided tape it to the upper, then drill through the entire thing.

Did the same and then took it off. Looked better as just the v1 IMO and that extra 1/2" made me able to make it in and out of 99% of driveways haha

I used double sided tape and also drilled some holes and used there from my old Acura. I was not a fan of drilling into the stock bumper, but you will never notice them if I took the lip off and can get them repaired if I need them to be.

My installer drilled a hole in the rear portion of the splitter and bolted it to that felt material underneath the car. Otherwise that part kind of flaps about and eventually starts pulling at the 3M tape.

I think I will use this somehow just to attach the V2 to the V1. The V1 with all the bolts in the back is on good. the lower portion V2 is the problem as it has zero bolts and just tape....
