E92 to ZR1
I got a ZR1 a few months ago after my E92 M3 where I ran
1:59:2 without aero at BW13 and 1:57:7 w/ aero both on RS3. 1:30:9 at WSIR with same set up. Well I took the ZR1 to the track for the first time and it was phenomenal. Didn't have my own track wheels yet but my buddy let me use his "6 track day old Hoosier A6". Car has so much torque coming out of turns it's beautiful I tell you! You can be in wrong gear and it doesn't even seen like you'll lose much time lol. Managed - 1:53:7 So I bested my time by 4 seconds first day out. Also drove 100% Stock 991 Carrera 4s and ran 2:00 which was awesome. Thanks to SpeedDistrict for throwing the best SoCal track days! ZR1 buttonwillow 1:53 video 991 Carrera 4S I drove.

wow! that car is insane!!!! I wish i had the money to buy one! i'm sure some idiot will come here and rant about it being a downgrade and talk about badge prestige or interior quality or lack of refinement, but forget it. The ZR1 is one of the best supercars today, and in a totally different universe to an M3. And to think te C7 Z06 will be even faster. corvette is a true performance icon!
on an unrelated note, do corvette guys at the track downgrade the ccb brakes to steel like porsche guys do? what are your thoughts about life expectancy and replacement cost for those rotors for track driving? |

I'm not sure about the brakes. I've seen some do that but I have to say it's nice to just show up and go. It's my daily and with my M3 I would swap pads at the track but the brakes are fucking amazing. Never had any fade at all. Consistent and strong. I'm gonna run them and pray. 😐

The C6 ZR1 is beastly--CONGRATS!
What kind of tires on the CCWs? Square? Nice job driving. The brakes should treat you well, but just watch for rotor delamanation, and BE CAREFUL when changing out wheels/tires not to shatter a rotor!

Next time Josh does a Buttonwillow event I'd love for you to ride shotgun with me in my 911 to teach me that track. Cheers.

^Thanks Longboarder! Would be my pleasure!
Didn't break it on street tires but a buddy did. Only ran it twice with aero maybe if I had more seat time I would of. There's definitely a lot of time in the ZR1. Excited to get it out to WSIR too and see. Next time at buttonwillow let me know! |

Jeez, I can't believe the amount of runoff space at that track. Those of us who drive Lime Rock regularly would have a blast there. Try driving inches from trees and guardrails with very little track-out room at LRP for a change!

I believe the ZR1 only came with Magnetic shocks.
I always think about that on the east coast. Sketch if you spin ...def more of a rush! Haha |

Looks like such a blast. The ZR-1s are dangerously quick machines at the track with a good driver. Looks gorgeous in that setup as well...wouldn't mind having one.
