Just purchased a 2009 135i. :)
Space gray, 2009, 45k miles (75k km) on it. Clean title.
M-Sport, Premium & Sports package and NOTHING else. No comfort access, no parking sensors, no cold weather package. AFE dual cone intake RPI quad exhaust TurboTuner chip inline with the TMAP sensor Carbon Fiber mirror covers, splitter, diffuser and trunk lip spoiler. H&R Sport springs Koni Shocks. 6 spd manual. I just got it 3 weeks ago. Already starting to work on it. From the PPI, it had low boost codes (probably a result of the TurboTuner), misfire in cyl 1 (fixed by PO before delivery - new coil+plug) and a little bit of paint damage on the front and rear bumpers. I went for a spark plug change across the first 3 banks today since I had another misfire in cyl 3. Found out that the valve cover gasket is seeping oil slightly into cyl 3, so that's a weekend project down the road. Plugs were worn out badly. Car runs great now. Having a lot of fun, but miss the LSD in my E36 M3 for sure. Turbo wastegate rattle is irritating. When a car wants to be luxurious, it shouldn't feel raw. If it feels raw, it shouldn't be luxurious. This car is neither luxurious nor raw - and I'm not sure I like that. Suffers from irritating build quality issues - stupid interior trim rattles. In a lot of ways, this car made me want WRX STi a lot more. More trackable - I'm in California - and better interior build quality. Just a little uglier. Anyways, I'm on board. Tell me of things I should look out for and what I should do with my car! Any ideas on how I can get an LSD in here without shelling out more than $3500?

Welcome.
Hmm.. What you should look out for.. How about a used WRX STi? What you should do with your car? Sell it to someone who doesn't want something else.

MFactory has LSD's for under 2k (after you return the core and or pumpkin). If you can install the core yourself, it's only ~1300 bucks. If you want the whole pumpkin it ends up being around ~1800 after you return your old one.

You can still have the turbos replaced for the rattle at BMW.
And I wouldn't necessarily say STis have better interior build quality. Feels a lot cheaper than in the e82. Great cars tho. |

That's the tough part. I have the one that's welded on.

Hahaha, there are some admitted shortcomings of the 1. It's not a track dedicated toy and it's not the most luxurious car. I'm pretty happy with mine and I'm sure I'd have gripes with the STi if I got one, but this car has been okay thus far.

Oh, so you send your diff into MFactory and they do it for you? I see. Hmm, not bad if I can let my car sit in a lot for a few days near my shop.
