Saw one about a couple months ago. Literally just flew past me on the highway. Wouldn't say they're necessarily doing bad tho.

Dealer told me last weekend M3s sell quickly and most are presold. They have an M4 in that gawd-awful yellow that's been on the lot for a few weeks. Offered to let me test drive it after I sat in an M235i. $82k isn't in my wheelhouse for the M4.
I'd take the M3 over the M4.

The M3 looks so much more aggressive than the M4, and it's more practical too. First time ever on the looks I think.

7 M3s available within 250 miles of Chicago. 33 M4s per cars.com. Is it supply or demand? Don't know.
For me I'd rather have an M3 than M4 but am waiting for an M2 because the M3 got even bigger than the old E90 series. I know its an awesome car but its just getting too big. Like an old 5 series. |

Now with a picture
I'm lucky enough to have a '10 135i and now waiting for final delivery (after ED) of my SO M4 sometime within the next couple of weeks.
Most people that want to buy the new M3 and M4 end up ordering their cars to their specifications. The cars that you see at the dealers are dealer optioned cars that may or may not be easy to sell. My dealer got stuck with an M4 that someone ordered to their liking and then bailed out on the deal. They can't get rid of it... I predict that with all the current delays in the manufacturing due to carbon fiber roof and wheel issues, more people will be opting to buy from the existing dealer inventory. This is my car right outside of BMW Welt. It is pretty sweet, but I still love my 135i!!! Last edited by fun2drv; 11-02-2014 at 10:19 AM.. Reason: Added a picture |

You're right fun2driv. Most are ordered to buyers spec and dealer orders are allocated. I think BMW pushed the yellow M4s on dealers since all the media cars are that puke yellow color.
Like to see your M4 up close when you get it.

At anything over $40k it better be exactly what I want or I'm not buying it. So I get that most folks are special ordering them.

I guess I don't really get the M sedan. I think M cars should be coupes. My favorite M car is the E46 M3 coupe. Just a classic coupe that I never get tired of.

So to those that say the M3 looks better.....what angle are you talking about? You're talking about the new M3 correct?
IMO, both cars look almost identical, especially the front. The rear there are slight differences like the tail lights and the trunk on the M4 looking slightly raised in the middle. A co-worker of my wife has a M4 and thats the only one I've seen on the road. I saw one in the dealership when they were just starting to come out a few months ago. Awesome car and I dont see why anyone wouldn't want one. Price difference between the M3 and M4 is a couple thousand $$$ before you start adding on options. |
