Tested: M4 Manual, 12.4 sec @ 117 mph
So the RT trap speed for the manual is definitely on the low side at 114.9 mph.

Fast time, seems about right imo
I love mine and find it more engaging / fun than the e92, which was also a great car. I can't find much more to like about the e92 except the oem exhaust note from outside the car, and the intake noise is a little better, but I like that tje f8x is louder. The handling is far better on the f8x and the suspension calibration and body control is unbelievable for a car of this size. For my taste, no comparison. Improvement in all areas, most of all fun. And I do have a little track time so far, limits are really high |

Taken that good DCT launches are at 119 mph at the drag strip I think 117 mph is a pretty good benchmark to test your own MT launch skills. Makes me want to have a go, maybe after break-in.

That 114.9 trap was definitely on the low side now that we have enough numbers.
Nice to see MT die-hards still fighting strong and agree an MT on pretty much any car increases the connection. IMO really not worth the couple tents and more consistency of DCT, unless you're really into drag racing. On a track, won't matter as much for most amateurs, especially given the high TQ of the F8x, also for tracks like laguna seca, you will probably only need two gears to complete the track with a fast time compared to the old car. |
