Strong exhaust smell (fumes)

So I've recently installed a catless xpipe on my e93 M and did the exhaust mod as well. The smell is super strong in my garage when I warm the car up in the mornings and just strong overall even for people driving behind me. About to get tuned by active autowerke along with adding an intake and pulley kit. When they tune the car will it help with the smell? Or is it something I just have to deal with going catless? Thanks

cold starts are the worst, I also have an E93 and was worried about the smell so I purchased test pipes and left the secondary cats in place to help with the smell. If you are sensitive to this smell I advise picking up an x-pipe with high flow cats or adding some to your current setup.

I'm also assuming that since the exhaust is brand new I still have to break it in correct? The car is not my daily either and I was hoping once it's broken in and I get my tune it should be a lot better? I'd just really appreciate it some input from those of you with the experience. Thank you again

It's gonna smell bad. You have no cats. My car also stinks. Windows down at a light and it smells pretty bad. I have had many catless cars and this one smells the worst I think.

Tune may help as it will lean the car out a bit but the exhaust breaking in ain't gonna do anything. Isn't it an OEM mod anyways? The muffler has already been broken in.

Smell is going to stay as you are catless. I love the smell maybe it will grow on you.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning

Keeping the secondaries is smart, but the catalyst doesn't work until the exhaust gas gets hot, which usually takes a while. In the winter time its a real pain to get them hot enough to work consistently, but I guess that's a non issue in Palm Springs.

The smell, I'm immune to now. But going to open my trunk while the cars on and the exhaust fumes hitting my eyes and burning my corneas, that's not fun.
