Congrats on your order (BTW there's a separate Ordering section).

Congrats, but I am pretty sure Active Headlight Control is standard on the M3 in the US.

Congrats. Yeah, the active headlights are standard. Are you certain that you don't want the 19's?

+1.

I was thinking about getting and keeping the 18s as winter wheels, and buying aftermarket 19s, but have decided to just get the 19s and swap tires when necessary. It'd be hard to beat the stock 19s.

Are you thinking about putting snows on your M3, or will you stick to your 335xi in the snow/ice?

The 18" style 260 club (one member club to be honest) distances itself from the above statements.

What other clubs (other than the 6MT and 18" clubs) have you started S?

Yeah I'm keeping the 18's because I have to drive my car back up to school and it could be in the snow for a good month so I will leave them on, but I will be getting aftermarket probably in april or may... Yeah I forgot about the active headlights being standard. My fault. That's what I thought about the screen size. I mean if that were true it would be like having an actual LCD tv in the car. I can't wait and thanks for the congrats.

One question regarding my order....Obviously I ordered manual but, if they happen to release DCT soon can I change my order or is it final once they give you a production number? Thanks

Your dealer should be able to modify your order in the system until production actually begins, but check with them obviously.

I don't plan on driving the M3 in the winter right now. I do plan on driving the 335Xi throughout the year. It is incredible in the snow and on the ice. It almost feels to good with aggressive snow tires. I sometimes wonder if I should have just gone with the i and snows. Although, I do plan on going with Dinan's ECU update, so maybe AWD is a good thing.

You guys know that I am a Porsche fan, so I have given thought to sometime going M3 year round and 911S in the summer. I just don't feel right driving the M in the snow. I had to go to counseling and Zoloft just to get myself to drive the 335 in the snow, haha.

I'm sure the M3 would do fine on the snow and ice as long as you are not in an actual storm like the one we had a couple of weeks ago. I don't know about where you live, but they clear the streets up fairly quickly around here. My 325ci with snows is just fine in winter as long as I'm not trying to drive in a snow storm, in which case you would need the 335xi!

I live in Upstate NY. We can get a lot of snow. The roads are cleared up fairly quickly. I actually like driving in the middle of a snow storm with the Xi.

Hey, if I owned one, I would do the same. Must be a ton of fun and somewhat helps justify the purchase!

It will be nice to drive the car from Houston to South Bend because that drive is around 1200 miles, give or take...I have done it once already so by the time i get it up there it will be due for it's first sevice. Hopefully this will be a mild winter for snowy, lake effect south bend. That first storm that you guys were talking about was brutal though... I was beginning my finals so luckily I didn'y have to leave my apt. too much.

Cheers

The reason I need snow tires is that I go to school at Notre Dame which is in the middle of no where South Bend, Indiana. My family still resides in Houston and we buy all of our cars from the same salesman down here. So once I get the car I will fly home and drive it back up to school...
