Tether phone to car internet access?

Quick questions for the M3/4 ED gurus:

1) the car has a 3G internet connection, correct?

2) If so, can I use the card internet connection on my phone?

I want to be able to use my phone apps while in Germany and not use my phone data plan.

1) Yes, the car has a 3g connection through AT&T, I believe. No evidence it works in Europe.

However, the BMW Online stuff is disabled while you're doing ED.

There is a way to do some tethering, but it's would require coding.
