Thoughts?

Hey guys,

Came across a 2015 M3 - AW w/ SO interior. Fully Loaded, including full dash leather, ceramic breaks and black 19' wheels.
Price was around $88,725.
This is definitely the combo I'm looking for, with the exception of the Ceramic Breaks & 19' black wheels. They were willing to split the Ceramic break cost so I was granted with a $4000 ($84,725) discount right of the bet without any negotiating.
Im sure I can knock off another grand or two with some negotiating and bmw discount programs, but haven't entered into any negotiating due to a lease i still have.

Id appreciate some of your thoughts..

Thanks in advance.

$4k off the CCBs is nice. If it's everything you're looking for with no markup, yeah, why not. See how much more discounts you can get.

Lincoln Park NJ? I'm right next door in Wayne. $4k off would already give you one of the larger discounts off of MSRP I have seen on this forum. If its a local convenient dealer (free loaners for service), I don't see why not. You probably know this already, but you can negotiate the price on the insurance programs they will try to sell you after you buy the car (I didn't think to try and probably left some money on the table).

I would skip ceramic brake and save 4k more.
Regular steel brake is very good for daily and occasional track use.

There is also the difference between getting a car in a day to two, or possibly having to order it to specification and wait three months.

I guess you also have to keep in mind any potential negatives with the ceramic brakes, like the potential cost to replace. Are they squeakier than the steel brakes? My last car's brakes (not ceramic) squeeked like crazy in cold weather, very annoying.

Actually the car is in Midwest as I'm traveling but I never had prior issues with purchasing a car at one dealer and servicing it at another.
What did you end up getting?

I can probably knock off another $2000 but just waiting for an offer from them and take it from there. They seem to have trouble moving the car as it's been sitting at the dealer for over 2 weeks.

I heard (and test drove it) regular breaks are pretty good on this car. I won't track the car most likely so I'm still trying to justify $4000 breaks..

A dropped glass breaks.
A car is stopped by brakes.

You're welcome.

If you're getting discount on the brakes, also try to get a discount on the car itself. $84k is still a lot to drop on this car. GL!

The dealer doesn't "split" the cost with someone.... he just gives a discount. So basically you are getting $4000 off which isn't a bad deal. But I would be surprised if they gave you any more. If you can get the $750 innovation credit and maybe another $1000 un4gettable credit and you are at $5750 off... now we're talking.

Another 2k off would be under invoice right? Good luck with that. Hell i have a hard time believing they are just chomping off 4k on the most popular color combo after 2 weeks. But then again im skeptical about half the deals posted

You also need to ask yourself how long you plan on keeping the car. If you're a frequent car flipper, then buying CCBs at half price and selling the car 2 years later will turn out to be a selling point if the brakes have lots of life left in them at the time of sale. At some point it turns out to be a function of how long you keep the car and how many miles you put on it also.

Just try not to break your brakes!

I've been skeptical about some of the obvious "too good to be true" deals that members tend to make a badge of honor and source of attention.

I'd say do it but I'm still struggling with the reality that the car now cost $88k.

And because it's a sedan, you can almost get a M5 for that price.

In any case, if you can get them below $80k I'd say go for it.

CCB are awesome but its hard to tell how they will impact your resale down the line. Still expensive around 84k but thats the price you pay for a highly optioned car and taking it off the lot this early in the release.

I guess weigh your disposable income vs your patience and see which wins.

Keep us posted
