If the worst should happen...

And I get to Welt, and my car isn't configured correctly, what happens then? I can't imagine I'm forced to take the car as is. But I'm also sure I probably wouldn't still get a car to tool around in in Europe.

Has anyone here had to face this or know anyone who has? What should be my Plan B in case my car isn't correct?

Error at the Welt. The color was wrong for this M3.

In all honesty, I'd be fine with a trackable loaner, since I have both the nurburgring and a day at Spa Francorchamps planned. My goals are these, in this order:

1) See Europe

2) Christen the car on European tracks and roads

Driving around Europe in a BMW is the experience that's irreplaceable. I can't say for certain how I'd feel if my car wasn't right, but I feel like as long as I got my car in the end, and I had an M3-esque car to tool around in, I'd be OK.

Check the data sheet for your VIN here: http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html

It'll let you know whether your order was processed correctly once your car's begun production. Prior to that, I would have your CA send you a copy of his order sheet with your options etc...

What is the percent of special orders that BMW makes a mistake on? Why is everyone so worried that it is going to be them?

My CA nearly sent out for an F80 with a moonroof. I can't believe I almost missed it on the first order sheet. After that, I scoured the updated order sheet like a hawk. Any mistake at this point would be just pure bumble.

I just worry. I tend to have a case of the Murphy's Law when it comes to things I rest a lot of worry or mental energy on.

Also, when should I get my VIN? It seems my car has just started production (I do have a production #)

Don't get me wrong. I'm excited as hell to get my M3, but who are we trying to convince here? Who cares if it's not everyone's favorite? My buddy is getting a C7 and I'm as excited to test drive his car as I am to take home mine!

You don't have to convince anyone. Save the desperate posts for your diary.

Hahaha, oh gosh. Well, I'm certainly owed it!

I was just worried if I arrived at Welt and it wasn't the right car that I wouldn't have *any* car and be scrambling to come up with a way around Europe to all the hotels I've already made my reservations at. I seems like at the very least, they'll provide some kind of car, so that's a bit relieving.

Your CA should be able to access it now (or soon) since you're in production. Your selections should also show up on the 'My BMW' section of BMW's website now, too.

Vanilla build. I wouldn't worry about it since you don't have any individual options. Much ado about nothing. Go watch football.
