I bought green LEDs for fog lights

The background is I was out for a drive in my 1er and I pulled up next to a tastefully modified white MKVI GTI. One of the mods he had done were green LEDs on his fogs, so the beam pattern was green in the front of his car which then fadeed into white from his xenons. I was mesmerized by the look of it and wanted the same effect for my car.
To give you an idea of the end result, look at this picture. The amber color should be re-imagined in green.

So I ordered these on ebay this morning:

I am unsure how they will look, but for $15 bucks I thought I would give it a shot in the dark.

Chances are this could be illegal. I don't know if headlight rules apply to fog lights though.

Hahaha at the xmas joke!

I am going to have to look again but I think green is acceptable for fogs. Unacceptable nor desired for low beams for sure.

I don't believe fog light colors are regulated specifically like turn signals for example. With that said, all vehicle lights are regulated by laws forbidding the use of emergency vehicle colored lights (blue, red, flashing lights, etc). However, I don't believe green falls into that category.

With that said, always double check your local laws as there are some crazy laws out there.
