how fast is Audi tt rs4
So , I was rolling south on a deserted hiway in socal in our 135. Came up to a light and noted an Audi tt rs4 next to me . The road here is two lanes for about .75 miles then goes down to one, with no cross streets. A good place to GO, if you get my meaning. Anyway, at first it did not seem like he was interested, and I paid no attention. Then he looked over and put the hammer down. I had no time to drop into manual or Sport mode, so I had to stay in standard DCT . He pulled out about 6 feet before I reacted. The Audi seemed like a newer model , maybe 2010, or later but most definitely an S4 or rs4 , whatever. Anyway, we were dead even with that 6 foot gap until we passed 100 , then I started to pull him a bit. By 115 I was in front and easily moved into the single lane part of the road. What is up with that? Should not the TT have walked away from us? Both cars were running 2 up, but the literature says the TT is 360 hp. Even an earlier 2009 or so was rated 330 hp.
Was the driver bagging it, sure did not sound like that. I never heard him back off. What collective wisdom does anyone have?

RS4 is the RS version of the A4 TTRS is the RS version of the TT The TTRS is fairly new, last I checked the last RS4 was in B7 trim right when the E9x m3 came out. The TTRS is fast, but only hit USA in 2011 and was only offered in manual. Europe got DSG and I forgot it's 1/4 mile times but it's 0-60 was 3.6. They're fast and you'd have to be you're heavily modded for it to be close. If it was some whack rebadged TTS then results are not surprising. Last edited by 3002 tii; 08-28-2014 at 07:56 PM.. |

Pretty hard to mistake any TT for an A4/S4/RS4. Was probably just a TT with the s-line trim so had a lil s-line badge on the side, which would be a far cry from an S4 or RS4. |

The TT RS held its own against the 1M in a C&D comparo back in the day: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...omparison-test I'd still take the 1M (obviously) but I give Audi props for bringing back the turbo 5-cyl, among other things.

if the OP means a "Twin Turbo S4" then they are referring to the B5 S4.....which is like the original 135i idea (tuneable twin turbo). HIGHLY tunable and very quick when tuned. Those Stage 3 S4s can easily be 375+hp in a fairly compact car.
If the OP is referring to a TT-RS....yes those are mega quick in a straight line. Faster than the 1M....but worse in the corners than a 1M :P If the OP is referring to a "TT RS4" then i have no fucking clue what he's talking about. LOL. |

But hey, at least it's OUR 135, so we all own it! And we ALWAYS follow the rules of the road and posted speed limits. Slow and steady wins the race! |
