engine software
Hi all,
I'm going to be taking my car in for service for various service items before my warranty is up. Not sure if they'll do my vanos bolts or not, but i have regular oil change etc coming due. I'm worried about them updating my software without my approval. I read stories on here about dealers just updating without customers knowing to address issues in the DCT with delay, etc. I do not want mine updated as I've read too much about the loss of power, sound etc. I'll deal with the gremlins until there's a fix that doesn't kill those other items. So, my question. Is there a way to tell what software I'm currently running so I can check it after service to make sure nothing was done? I plan to leave notes in the car and tell the SA. But you can never be too sure. Thanks, Andrew |

That might not work if the update is safety related. What I read about the DCT is conflicting.
