Enjoying my new ride!

My lease on a 2012 550xi MSport was ending and I wanted to try something different. Coming from an RS4 I missed track days and having a touch of spirited fun on the highway; that is until Virginia went draconian!! In my heart I always wanted an M car or truck. Couldn't go back to Audi and their janky maintenance package and warranty!

Last week I took delivery of a 2015 M3 and I'm falling completely in love with the car. It handles like a dream and the stock exhaust note is awesome. The 2nd gear pills like a mule on steroids and the braking is very tight!

I want to thank a few members on this forum for answering my questions about RWD BMW's and dedicated snows! I'll post some pics in a few...

Peace and blessings,

Will

I'm curious - what are your plans for winter / snow? This will be my daily so I need to figure this out as well. Thx!

Will, I couldn't agree more. The F80 is even better than I thought it would be.

As for winter, 18" wheels with the same-dimension Blizzaks all around (so you can rotate) will get you anywhere you want to go. Unless you're plowing snow with the splitter. Then all bets are off.

JCN83, I've never ran Blizzaks so I'm going to run a set of Vredestein Wintrac Extreme's this winter.

Congrats! I ran Conti Extreme contacts on my F10 535 and made it through Snomageddon in January 2011 living in FFX, so you'll be fine with dedicated snows.

Enjoy!

I've run lots of different brands of snows, and the Blizzaks are nothing short of phenomenal. The drawback to them is that when they reach 1/3 tread depth, they are absolutely trash and should be replaced. Don't know why that is, but they're so good the rest of the time, it's worth it.

They use two different compounds. The outer layer is what makes them so great in the snow, the inner layer basically turns them into crappy all-seasons.
