Is this a good deal?

2007 BMW M Coupe
Black Sapphire/Black Leather/Carbon Leather Trim
Premium Package
Heated Front Seats
MSRP $55,700

Negotiated price: $42,405

24 month lease, 12k miles
residual: 68%
money factor: .00270
Aquisition fee: $825
Gas guzz: $1000
tax, dmv, doc fee, suc. deposit

I think the MSRP should be $54,700 as configures on BMWusa.com

Should I negociate the cap cost lower?

That sounds exactly like my car: black/black/carbon with heated seats and the premium package, and the sticker was $55,520, iirc. Are you including the thousand dollar gas guzzler tax?

Yep, I need to add that.

Didn't you have a cap cost of $38k, should I negotiate the $42,405 lower?

I did, but as Ray (BMW-NC) can tell you, that was a case of the owner simply wanting the last car gone. Beyond a certain point, the dealer may decide to take his chances on another buyer or at auction.

However, the closer we get to the end of the month, the better your chances. I came home today to several messages from dealers that had flat out refused offers of $43k or so last week.

Where are you getting 68% residual?

2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe
24 Month – Residual 63% of MSRP – .00275 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 53% of MSRP – .00275 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 39% of MSRP – .00310 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 32% of MSRP – .00310 Base Rate

2007 BMW Z4 M Convertible
24 Month – Residual 65% of MSRP – .00275 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 54% of MSRP – .00275 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 39% of MSRP – .00310 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 32% of MSRP – .00310 Base Rate

I know I found a thread that said the rate had been reduced to .00270.

Thats what I was told by the sales man. Hope he is right.

He said:
Best term is 24 months, and residual is 66% for 15k. Add 2 points for 12k and 1 additional point for 10k.

What also is weird, usually you add 2 points for 12k and 3 points for 10k, he has it only adding 1 point for 10k.

two things -

Yes, he is using the wrong residuals. BMW can't ( and it wouldnt make sense) to adjust the residual value. Its not as if the car is going to increase in value over time.

He meant add 2% for 12K miles and then add one more % for 10,000 miles for a total of = 3% add to 63% is 66%.

That is your residual for the 2007.
