the new G20 is .5" shorter than an E34 5 series. And about 3.5" shorter than the e39. has a longer wheel base than the e39 , so probably more interior room.

Its sad when I was just out of college, my roomate had an E34 525... like a '94 that his dad had given to him. I remember thinking this was about as big a car as I'd want (drove a '01 nissan altima at the time) and now that i'm much older, I feel like its just about the right size if you regularly have rear passengers. My A4 is slightly longer than the G20 and I kind of figure if I can't comfortably sit behind myself in a sedan, I might as well just buy a coupe.
