I'm IN

The 1m has arrived and I'm in for the 3rd!

I'd like to be in the beginner group and would appreciate a "check in" ride with an instructor.

THANKS! Looking forward to it.

Any ideas on the additional cost for the newbs (me) that would require a full-time instructor?

Insurance

What are you all doing for insurance on the track? I have Geico, they say they do not cover HPDE events. Is this even considered an HPDE event? Looking for advice now that I have a car that is worth more than $2,500. THANKS!

I am working with ontrackinsurance.com. They have added our track day to their list of events.

Franklin- you know better than suggesting pushing it outside the gate. Insurance fraud.

Read your Geico policy. I doubt it states a driving event is excluded. Don't take their word, read your policy. Of course the other advice is don't track a car you can't financially walk away from.

Haha...i would never do such a thing.
I would seek advice from my personal insurance adjuster.

Will have to look at my policy now...

OK thanks y'all I need to look over my Geico Policy and maybe invest in one of these other (pricey but comforting) policies.

Would this event be considered a "structured HPDE event"?

That advice... don't track a car you can't financially walk away from... pretty serious stuff. I need to give my plans some more though, I might just have to stick to the e30 until I've made some payments on the 1m for a couple of years. At least until I've covered the gap.

We'll see. I'll be there regardless either in the 1m or the e30 if I can get it running reliably by then! It was a bummer bending a valve on the warm-up lap last time...

Ok everyone, we need to get this thing moving. This date is approaching rapidly and we have to make a decision soon. The next available date appears to be Sept 24th. MSR's calendar is booked on the 10th and 17th. It's imperative that we decide this weekend. We have sponsors working in the background and we don't want to change the event at the last minute. So all of you that are on the fence.......get down and let's ride!.................Phil

I'm currenly a NO. Unless I get an unexpected influx of cash (which happens all the time, right??).

To date, my tread depth decrease >> than my tire budget increase. Booo.

I really do want to show up and clean up, though MWA HA HA HA.

How often do these Houston ///M Club track days happen? My track budget probably won't allow me any time until Nov.

Phil,

The Houston BMW CCA chapter is hosting a teen street survival school on the 24th, so I hope this date doesn't move to the 24th as a few people who might be interested will be instructing teens that day.

Labor Day weekend doesn't work for me, but I want to get back out there once it cools off and in prep for going to Barber Motorsport track for Ofest in October.
