Not sure what this monstrosity looks closer to - a Chevy Malibu or a Nissan Sentra (side view). The Hoffmeister kink has been formally buried by BMW - a design cue that every other carmaker would give an arm and a leg for.
So this ugly car will retail in the 40k range in the US? I'd certainly like to see the fool/badge whore that will buy this (I am sure there will be many - that audience that BMW says doesn't know if their car is RWD or FWD) |

Looks much better than I expected. Maybe the best rear end treatment of any current BMW. The chrome trim around the pillars and doors looks out of place and the front end proportions could be better but otherwise this is a solid first attempt in the segment. This will do well in Canada.

Love the tail lights and rear end in general! Not sure about the headlights though..
Will consider the m235i if lease prices will be right.. But what I am really waiting for is the new 4 series |

A bit heavy for it's size. My F36 awd was 3600+ lbs as well.
It surprises me, how BMW managed to get 300hp+ stock out of their 4 banger. And is there any room for an additional boost? : |

This car is gonna be an interesting one, when looking at the performance of it its damn close to the M2 Competition.
I wonder if BMW ain't gonna be doing an M2 Version of this because some people have really wanted a x-drive version for quite some time of the smaller one. So if we would have an M2 with RWD and an M2 with AWD versions i don't think that would be that bad either. I remember when Ford Came with the Ford Focus RS and everyone said you can't pull that of in a FWD car but they did pull it off if Ford could do it i don't see why BMW couldn't . The styling of the car is subjective as any other styling of a car, there is those who just can't stop complaining how BMW lost their way in styling and yada yada this and that, and there is those of us who are glad BMW is stepping out of the old design elements finally. But for me this car won't do cause they didn't release an full electric version, would love to have an performance electric car of this type of car. Small form factor car with extreme performance and electric drive with at least a proper 400-450 km in one charge that would tick the box for me.

There is a reason not even the Koreans are willing to make their cars look like this... This is damn FUGLY and void of any pleasing lines... This is esthetic torture...
BMW has lost it... First the 4series and now this... Mazda, Honda, here I come I will be saving money... No need to lose an arm and a leg just so people can say how much you lack taste... I can be tasteless for much less, and be less of an idiot.. Piece of crap BMW... EDIT:. I HAVE looked again at all the photos, and I tried believe me, but there is not a single angle on this car that looks remotely good... I now hate this car so much... I would vote for This car to be the ugliest car ever... Replacing the Pontiac Aztek... So damn ugly BMW... Why even buy this... ???!!
