I think they heat the leather with a hair dryer/heat gun which shrinks it.

There's a long thread about my baggy leather seats somewhere on the UK forum.

I've 2 problems with the car since having it for 6 months.
1. Driver Leather seats sqeaky noise is driving me crazy. It started the noise after 3 months and still going on
2. Wierd noise(like screw dancing) coming from some where around the cupholders near the gear - but couldn't really figure it out exactly from it it is coming.

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated

1. Your cow needs some TLC.
2. Take it to BMW. I hate rattles. Thankfully my car is rattle free, wind noise free, road roar practically free, suspension and steering knocking free ...... Long may this be.

Oh, they dim when there is glare, they are heated and they fold when I lock my car and unfold when I unlock it. I think that's clever, but I am a very simple person.

I seem to be having problems with my auto stop start,
This is probably a set thing. When i start the car, after a couple of minutes i swiitch to ASS off. After a good run it will stall/ cut out when i stop at lights or so. PITA. Just have to get used to this fault.

Do you know, I thought it was just me too but I have the same issue. I was just debating this with her in doors on Friday, when we were out and about.

Please remind me, what rubber have you got? Mine came with Bridgestone (18") and they are NOISY NOISY NOISY!

Compared to the Pirellis on my previous E91 it's deafening.

Mine are the same as yours. Check your tyre pressures as it makes all the difference. Or, maybe my hearing is not as good as yours.

Does it start again automatically? Is the Stop/Start button light still lit or has the light gone off?

After a good run, i may stop at a set of lights or so, it just stalls. Doesn't start back up untill foot on clutch & pressing the start button. Bit of a pain to be honest. I wish i could be totally disabled, without having it coded.

What i do now is just keep switching the s/s off & on every now & again, remembering particularly after a long run.

Ah, haven't thought of that, I'll check it tomorrow. Too be honest though, I did notice the increased road noise straight away on the way back home after picking the car up from the dealer in London so it may not be the pressure but as you get noise ratings nowadays when choosing new rubber it should be easier to avoid the noisy ones.

Cheers.

Aye.
Will wait untill a few troubles build up then take it over to the dealers.
I have a few already:
Faulty boot lid,
Tail pipe chrome descaling around rims,
Squeaky/rubbing door mirrors & finally for now my ASS.

Also a quick point whilst i'm on here, what's is the lowest temperature reading on the climate control ?
It doesn't seem to go lower than 16 degrees, is this normal ?
Not read the handbook yet.

Other than that things ok, apart from scratching the roof using a bird poo removal wipe (you think you're doing the right thing...!). I can't blame BMW for that though!
Mine drops too

1. Squeeking noise from dashboard, seems to be coming from the horizontal trim, very annoying!

2. knocking sound coming from the rear, when going up ramps or reversing, not always, seems to be when car has been stationary for a wee while

3. the gear change ( 8 speed AT) when is sports manual mode seems awfully jerky, i know its meant to shift faster, but does others ve a similar sensation/ experience?

You'll find 16 is the lowest setting, but causes the system to give maximum cooling.... it continues cooling... so 16.5 is the lowest "controlled" setting. This is how BMW have always been. Same for the highest setting, puts it to maximum heating.

Should all be in the user manual.
