My local chapter isn't so stuffy. Average age is probably 40, some younger, some older. Realistically, these ARE fairly expensive cars so the age range is bound to skew older. We get through the chapter stuff in about 5 minutes and spend the rest of the time eating (we are ALL about the BBQ), drinking good beer and chatting. The club chips in an $8-10pp stipend towards dinner, so if you go six times it covers the annual dues - nice!

I will say though, other than a hardcore group of autocrossers and LeMons racers, the talk is not necessarily about cars. And unlike any other car club I have been in, there is very little parking lot tire kicking unless someone brought a new toy along. Great bunch though!

The running commentary WAS hilarious though!

Don't let them see this post or they may elect you secretary before the next meeting

The VT BMWCCA is sparse - one chapter for the whole state, too big an area for a small population. I only make it to one gathering a year that's anywhere near where I live, and it's just a meet/drive/BBQ. Great people, laid back, a reasonable spread of ages and new/old cars, no pretense, and well... I enjoy micro-celebrity status as "the guy with the 850."
