Thanks to BMW Park Lane we got the chance to spend some time with the new F40 M135i xDrive and see if BMW have completely lost the plot or if it's just a slight pivot in direction.

Very nice videos! Keep up the good work.
I am not the biggest fan of the front, yet I like the new style of the grill.
The back looks really nice, and the interior looks a bit better than the previous one, and to me it seems like an attempt to compete with the interior of the new A-class from Mercedes.
- In general, I actually quite like it.

Thank you. Glad you are enjoying them.

Yes the front takes some getting used to but over all its a nice car for the segment.
Nice!

What do you feel the B48 is capable of with tuning Imran, any early thought?

racechip guys said there is not a ton of meat left on the bone so to speak, but did mention safe gains of ~30hp and 50ish tq, which means its one stout 4 banger.

Yes, I saw that also thanks. Seems about 330Hp safely.
Based on our experience +30 BHP and +50 lb.ft torque is probably safe just with a tune.

Adding a Downpipe and Eventuri would allow for another 20bhp at least.

Good to know.. do you have to cut the exhaust to fit the down pipe?
Anybody know why I don't get sound on videos using the Bimmerpost app on iPhone?

Happens time to time. Reset the App on phone and open up again, bingo.

Take your phone out of silent mode and you'll hear sound, happens to my phone all the time.
Nice review.

Although I do not like the front clip of either car, the hatch looks MUCH better than the "4 door coupe". Seems like a fun car to drive, and I think the interior looks great.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you folks recently dyno this same vehicle, and got 295whp and 340 lb.ft of torque? That's about 340 BHP and 391 lb ft using a 15% drivetrain loss. I recently acquired an X2 M35i here in the US. Another 30 hp and 50 lb.ft would be a lovely, lovely thing indeed.

If AMG can get 400HP out of a 2.0 liter engine, I'm sure BMW can follow suit. Even Imran...:D ( Enjoy all of your videos BTW.)
I think 400 BHP will be a stretch but lets see how the platform progresses. And thanks

They were calculated crank figures. Our dyno also reads 11-13% less than a Dynojet.
