Hey guys,
Car: 2007 e92 coupe The "light bars" that light up on the rear light have stopped working on my rear outside driver side, i have been told that you cannot fix these and have to buy new tail light Anyone have it for sale? Thanks |

I know this may sound silly, but the LED light bars went out on my rear passenger side last year. I took it to the dealer, they disconnected the light, plugged it back in and it started working again. Still working now.
Did you check to see if you just had a loose cable as well? Cause those LEDs should out last the car... -Rick |

I had this issue with my car, BMW replaced it under warranty on the passenger side. The drivers side went out recently but I am now out of manufacturers warranty and CPO does not cover this, they actually had a recall for this in the states.
Disconnecting and reconnecting it worked for a while, slowly it started to fade out and became very dim. Hitting it randomly would make it brighter, but in the end your only option is to purchase a working taillight. I would recommend looking on kijiji or finding those accident vehicles, I was able to pick up the drivers side off a 2010 M3 whom was in the process of doing an LCI taillight upgrade. For $100 it was a steal, dealers charge about $300 a piece. Note: I believe they fixed the LED issue for 09-10' models. |
